Tritiya Shraddha

Tritiya Shraddha is done for those departed family members who died on Tritiya Tithi, as well as both Shukla and Krishna Paksha Tritiya. Tritiya Shraddha is also identified as Teej Shraddha. The Tadiya or Tritiya Thithi of the Krishna Paksha of the Bhadrapada Month or the third day of the declining moon phase of the month of Bhadrapada as per the lunar calendar is observed as Tritiya Shraddha. According to north Indian Purnimant Calenders, Tritiya Shraddha falls in the month of Ashwin. Tarpans are offered to the deceased and Pind Daan is done as the process of Shraddha. Pindas are given as food to the cow or immersed in the river.The process of Shraddha should be done in such a way that the lunch should happen on the Aparhna Time of the day which would be around 1-2pm.
