Sawan Shivaratri

Shravan Maas is the fifth month of the Hindu calendar which falls usually during July – August.Shravan Amavasya is the no moon day during the auspicious month of Shravan.It is also known as Pithori Amavasya and Polala Amavasya in some parts of India.It starts when the Sun enters the sign of Leo. This is a special month dedicated to Lord Shiva and His worship during Shravan has benefits that are extremely powerful. It is the month that is associated with the monsoon season which is crucial to the harvesting of crops and the prevention of droughts.
