Damodara Dwadashi

Damodar Dwadashi, or Damodara Dwadasi, is observed on the 12th day of the waxing phase of moon (Shukla Paksha) of Shravan month. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devotees those who observe fasting or upvas on Ekadashi (Putrada Ekadashi) would break their fast on this day by offering naivedyam to Lord Vishnu. As per puranas, devotees who donate Vishnu idol and perform Annadaana would obtain moksha (salvation). Those who recite Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram and Bhagavatham on this day will also be blessed with eternal bliss and happiness. Donating rice, fruits and clothes to Brahmin priests is considered auspicious on this day. Devotees observe fast on this day and visit lord Vishnu temples.
