The Swarna akarshana Bhairava is the 9th form of Bhairava. He is also known as Dhanakarshana Bhairava.

Appearance: He is red in colour and is dressed in golden. He sports a moon on his head. Has Amudha kalasam and Soolam in his two of his four hands.

In few ancient texts quote, Lord Swarna akarshana bhairava to have 32 hands, shape of a bird with terrible teeth and has a human form above the hip.

The best time to chant this Mantra is during the Brahma muhurtha time (2 hrs before sunrise). If this is not possible then sandhya kala chanting (sunrise and sun set) is advised.

The Moola Mantra of Swarna Akarshana Bhairava can be chanted for a minimum of 3 times. It can also be chanted 9 times, 108 times, or even 1,008 times.

Where To Chant This Mantra

This mantra should be chanted when one is seated in the North quadrant of the house. One should face North while chanting this mantra. You may also chant this mantra in Bhairava temples.

Swarna Akarshana Bhairava is a lover of ghee (clarified butter). Therefore, offering pure ghee made from cow’s milk as neivedhya is the best. The other Abishekas performed are Panakam (also sometimes spelled as Panaham – a drink made out of jaggery) Halved coconuts Food made from Black Lentils (also known as Urad Dhal in Hindi, Minumulu in Telugu, Ulunthu in Tamil, Uddu in Kannada) such as Black Gram Dosa, Ulunthi Adai, and Black Gram Porridge. Sweets or snacks made out of Ash Gourd (Boodu Kumbalaki / Kalyana Pusinikai) such as Halwa. Payasam made out of jaggery Samba Saadham – rice cooked with roasted ground black pepper and cumin.

Red and yellow coloured flowers are offered to Swarbna Akarshana Bhairava. Apart from that, Bael flower (Vilwa), lotus and Thumbai (Ceylon Slitwort) flowers can be offered.
