An introduction to Vaishnavism

God Vishnu
Vaishnavism or Vishnuism is one of the major sub – traditions of Hinduism and has a large number of followers within the tradition. In general Vaishnavism is a way of life promoting qualified monotheism. Here Vishnu is the supreme entity and all the other entities emerge from Him. Vishnu is characterised with six different and supreme qualities: all power and all knowledge, supreme strength and supreme majesty and supreme energy and is self sufficient. Vaishnava philosophy differs from Dwaita and Advaita. In this philosophy the supreme Brahman who is Vishnu possesses many more attributed qualities.

Vaishnavism has no beginning in time; it is an expression of God’s existence in every living being. Vaishnavism has not changed in accordance with time as it is transcendental and doesn’t need to keep up with the world. As told earlier it is a way of life in which people from all walks of life can practice it around the world.
