Kalyani Devi Temple

Overview


Kalyani Devi Temple is an ancient goddess temple located at Meerapur, just 3 km from Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is one among the 51 Shakti Peethas of Sati, located at the holy land where Ganga and Yamuna are merged. The main idol is Goddess Lalitha. It is about 1500 years old.


About The Temple


This temple is one of a kind concerning engineering. Constructional example of this temple has a wide likeness with the south Indian temples. Sabhasthal has been built in the Hoysaleshwara temple construction style. Mainstays of the temple have stone plates on upper segment to take heap of tremendous rooftop. Festivals

The two important festivals of this temple are Chaitra Navratri and Ashwin Navratri which used to commemorate in March and October respectively. Dussehra or Dasara Festival is also celebrated here with full gaiety and enthusiasm.

Bamrauli airport of Allahabad is the nearest airport located at 15 kilometers from the city. Allahabad Junction is the major and nearest railway station. Road connectivity with neighbor cities is good.
